Meet The Buena Vista Sisters

Founded in 2021 when Claudia sold the property to sisters Hillary and Priscilla, The Buena Vista House is a true labor of love. As sisters who grew up in Tacoma/Sumner, Washington, and now call the beautiful Oregon countryside home, we realized our dream of working together to create a space for others.

The Buena Vista House is more than just a place to sleep, it’s designed to be a sanctuary. We invite you to relax, decompress, set intentions, and connect with the beauty of our space and with each other.

There’s Hillary who manages the property and upkeep and all the details to making sure everything is spotless & Comfortable for all. And there’s Priscilla, the brown-haired sister, tackling the garden and ensuring the grounds are lovely. Hillary & Priscilla live locally, they love to garden and travel! Hillary is also an experienced makeup artist—check out her work on Instagram: Makeup_goat_lover!

The Historic Heart of Buena Vista

Buena Vista, Spanish for "beautiful view," was first settled in 1847 by Reason B. Hall, who named the area in honor of a battle fought by his relatives during the Mexican-American War.

This community along the Willamette River quickly became a major hub, known as Hall's Landing. The town was a center for industry, home to the famous Oregon Pottery Company, whose wares—including pioneering 15-inch sewer pipe—were shipped throughout the territory via the river. The ferry is one of the oldest continuously operating ferries in Oregon and is now one of only three remaining cable ferries on the Willamette River. This charming crossing remains a working piece of history, connecting Marion and Polk counties and offering a unique, picturesque experience that transports you back in time. its height, with two doctors, a sawmill, and a thriving population, Buena Vista was seriously considered as a potential site for the new Oregon State Capital during the intense political wrangling of the mid-1800s. Though Salem ultimately won the designation, Buena Vista's historic significance remains.

Today, the town retains its tranquil, historic charm, perfectly situated between the Willamette River and the renowned Oregon Wine Country of the Willamette Valley.
